Welcome to the Light Company!
The Light Company is an Alliance guild in the Cenarion Circle reality of Azeroth. In this time of war against the Horde, Light Company actively supports the Alliance and works to defeat its enemies. More specifically, the Light Company opposed any and all schemes of the Shadow Council. The Shadow Council is a secret organization in the service of the Burning Legion. It uses subtle manipulations, and rarely acts directly against the Alliance. Many villainous groups are in fact pawns of the Shadow Council. The Shadow Council is mostly comprised of members of the races Horde, but they are by no means exclusive. All races are represented in its’ ranks. The Light Company seeks individuals who can think on their feet and adapt to the many schemes and weapons of the Shadow Council.
In addition, the Light Company actively spreads the ideals of The Light, especially the concepts of goodness and justice. Its members strive to set a good example for others, both within and without the guild. Finally, the Light Company honours the arts and supports the work of bards, poets, singers, story tellers and others. Their creativity and insight are important parts of the civilization we enjoy and defend.
Members of the Light Company are interesting souls who support one or more of its fields of activity (military, religious or artistic). You can expect that Light Company members will be devoted to at least one of these activities, giving it greater importance than personal advancement or acquiring personal possessions.
The Light Company exists to serve its members, not dictate to them. It does this by insuring that members are compatible with each other, that all major decisions and initiatives within the guild are decided by a voting system, and that all ongoing positions within the guild ultimately become elective.
Insuring that guild members are compatible with each other is the bedrock that makes everything else work. As a result, Light Company has a multi-step procedure for all new members. In the interests of fairness, each new character who wishes to join the guild, regardless of past affiliation, must go through this process.

Introduction & Goals
the Light Company Guild
This guild is a democratic association of Alliance citizens who have banded together to defend and support three critical principles of life. These principles are:
(1) Defeat enemies of the Alliance. In particular, this means actively working to defeat its greatest enemy, the Horde.
(2) Promote the Light: Spread the ideals of the Light, goodness and justice, throughout the world. This includes striving to set a good example for others, both within and without the guild.
(3) Support and Uphold the Creative Arts: Insure that bards, minstrels, poets, authors, and the other creative souls in Azeroth are honored and recognized. Their work reminds us all of the finer things in life made possible through the Light and defended by the Alliance.
The guild name, “Light Company,” reflects its military, religious and artistic goals. A Light Company is a military unit that fights in the vanguard of an army. A religious company supports and honors the Light. Finally, a theatrical company can shine the light of insight and understanding on all aspects of life. Not every member of this company embodies all three principles, but every member is expected to support at least one, depending on their personal beliefs and abilities.
The Light Company pursues these goals by organizing guild activities that support them. We firmly believe that the guild should help and support your enjoyment of life in Azeroth, not be a source of friction, critiques, or difficulties. Therefore, we place a strong emphasis on getting along with fellow guild members, and on regular guild activities. Members with ideas for new activities, and the energy to run them regularly, are applauded and supported.
The Light Company is run on democratic principles. Citizens of the Company each have equal votes regarding new members, major decisions, and ultimately the election of officers and leaders.
